Meet Dr. Khan

Dr. Khan is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon and board-certified general surgeon at Hoag Breast Center. She is the Director of Integrative Breast Oncology for the Hoag Breast Program, where she advocates for the latest and most comprehensive breast care for the women she serves. She has developed a comprehensive breast cancer survivorship program at Hoag to help survivors transition into “thrivorship.”

Breast Cancer Treatment Expert

Dr. Khan is Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, where she serves as the Associate Program Director for the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program. She has published her research in prominent national journals and has been an invited speaker at numerous national conferences. Dr. Khan’s areas of clinical expertise include oncoplastic breast surgery, extreme oncoplasty, nipple-sparing and skin-sparing mastectomy, intraoperative radiation therapy techniques, young and high-risk women, and providing compassionate care for women with all breast diseases.

She graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Texas at Austin and completed her medical degree with honors at Touro University College of Medicine, California. Dr. Khan finished a rigorous five-year general surgery residency program at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center during which she was elected Administrative Chief Resident and awarded Resident of the Year. She is a board-certified General Surgeon.

She then went on to complete a breast surgical oncology fellowship with The University of Southern California / Hoag Breast Fellowship Program under Dr. Melvin Silverstein, who is known as the pioneer of oncoplastic breast surgery in the United States. During her fellowship, Dr. Khan became the first recipient of the Muzzy Family Endowed Fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery.
